The Church Building

Church building- Click for Location MapPershore Baptist Church was founded in 1658. In July 2000 we celebrated the 300-year anniversary of the first recorded assembly on the present town-centre site.

The church premises have been designated a Grade II listed building.

A Public Address, Induction Loop System and small sound desk for music has been installed in the last few years and upgraded as congregation numbers have grown and the scope and style of music-worship in the church has broadened. The ground-floor worship area was re-furbished in 1990 and is very light and airy. It consists of chairs for variable seating arrangements, carpeted floor, moveable pulpit, movable staging and organ. The Baptistry is situated at the entrance to this area.

The rest of the downstairs leads from a tiled hallway to kitchen, toilets and Lower Schoolroom. Upstairs there is an Upper Schoolroom and a small office, which leads off the balcony.

The church entrance and ground floor rooms have wheelchair access.

The Manse The 1st & 2nd floor flat adjoning the church is the home of Rev. Mark Jennings, while the ground floor comprises Church office and two other rooms used for Pathfinders, youthgroup etc.
